I started thinking about this recipe more and more this past week after I experimented in my kitchen. Believe me, I succeed. Thank goodness, my mother was helping me a lot to create this awesome delicious recipe. Today I will share with you my innovative cooking idea and my own creation doing this Delicious Orange Honey Shrimp with Basmati Rice. Hope you guys like it.
Ingredients:
1 pound medium shrimp peeled and deveined
2 large oranges
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon olive oil
Freshly ground black pepper
6 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon finely minced fresh ginger
1 tablespoon unseasoned rice vinegar
1 tablespoon corn starch
Cooked rice for serving
Salt as per taste
Method:
I finely grated the zest from 1 orange and juice both oranges into the bowl. I whisked in the honey and vinegar with 1 tablespoon of water.
I took a small bowl, combined the corn starch with one tablespoon of orange juice, then stirred it back into the bowl with the rest of the orange juice.
I patted the shrimps dry with paper towels and seasoned both side salt and pepper.
I take a medium size wok or ( you can use a frying pan also) heated 1 tablespoon olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering hot almost smoking.
I added half of a shrimp and spread it out in one layer and I cooked until both sides are bright pink, for 2 minutes. Then I transferred this shrimp to a plate.
I repeated this process and added 1 tablespoon oil with the rest of the shrimps. Then set aside.
Then I added garlic, ginger paste, honey, and a pinch of black pepper and cooked until getting an aromatic fragrant.
Then I added orange cornstarch liquid and orange zest and cooked, stirred until it thickened for 2 minutes.
Then I served shrimp immediately and tossed and drizzled with honey orange juice mixture.
Previously I prepared basmati rice and added some honey orange mixture into it. Then I garnished with some orange zest freshly chopped coriander leaves.
