Durga puja is the Hindhu celebration of the Mother Goddess and the festival honors the powerful female force in the universe. Durga puja is celebrated in West Bengal, particularly in the city of Kolkata. It's the biggest and most important festival here.

 Bengali communities in other locations across India celebrate Durga puja as well. Preparation has begun in full swing in Kolkata. The Durga puja experience in Kolkata is very different from the rest of India and it is something worth experiencing at least once in my life.

I am very excited and I can sense everybody I am getting ready for the puja. I don't know yet what I will be doing. I already got a lot of good advice on where to go, which pandal to visit, and more.

  The celebration, the activities food, and customs all differ from one place to another. There can be no better place than Kolkata to soak in the festive spirit. Pandal hopping from north to the south of the city, checking out the traditional puja as well as the modern theme-based pujas.

Hundreds of elaborately decorated pandals, fascinating illuminations, magnificent idols of  Durga, and appetizing food options, all turn Kolkata into a fantasy land during the days of the festivals.
