Tsomgo Lake

Sikkim is a beautiful place with beautiful lakes and surrounded by hills. Tsomgo or Changu lake is my today's traveling destination. From Gangtok city, the lake distance is 40 kilometers. I arrived at the lake by car. It takes roughly 3 to 4 hours.

Tsomgo Lake:

Tsomgo lake is a glacier lake and it is located in the East Sikkim district and the state of Sikkim. Tsomgo lake located at an elevation of 12,313 feet. In the winter season, the lake remains frozen. The lake reflects different colors with changes in season.

The lake is surrounded by steep mountains which were covered by snow. During the summer season, the snow cover melts and forms the source of the lake. In the winter season, the lake remains frozen.

The depth of the lake is approximately 49 feet. The lake is surrounded also by alpine forests. The Chinese border crossing is only 5 kilometers east-northeast straight line.

The lake is nearby Nathula pass and Nathula highway. The atmosphere was great and thrilling. After the winter season ends the summer is coming and then blooms different types of flowers of Rhododendron.Several species of birds seen in the lake area. The rare Red panda is seen also there.

Tsomgo lake is the most attractive tourist place and tourists come here all over the world. It is the most visiting place in Sikkim. Tourist attractions at the lake site include joy rides on decorated yaks and mules.

Tsomgo Lake

The mesmerizing view attracted me and I clicked the legendary beauty of the lake. The ropeway was there tourists hired it. The height of the ropeway is approx 15,700 feet. I also hired it and the experience was heartbreaking and thrilling.

It is the high altitude and when I saw around the ropeway the view was just awesome. I thought I am top of the world. I clicked all the pictures from the ropeway.

After vising Tsomgo lake and sightseeing the lake, my mind was very refreshed and energetic. I was overwhelmed. You will also enjoy the view as well me.

Traveling the beautiful lake I went back to the hotel and thought all over the night.

The journey makes me happy.
