Tawang Monastery |
Tawang is truly a mystical destination that is blessed with marvelous natural beauty in abundance. Tawang is also known as the house of a variety of attractions which makes this place the most visiting place throughout the year.
Tawang has major attractions includes monasteries, waterfalls, and snow-clad mountains. One of the biggest attractions in the Tawang is Tawang Monastery. Today I will visit India's largest Buddhist monastery and the second largest monastery in Asia.
Tawang Monastery |
Tawang monastery is the most important pilgrimage in India for Buddhists. Tawang monastery also known as Galden Namgey Lhatse, it means "celestial paradise in the clear sky".The beautiful Tawang monastery truly lives up to its own name.
The monastery is situated top of the mountain at a fearless high altitude of 10,000 feet which gave me a most panoramic and splendid view. On the top of the monastery, I saw the brilliant and charismatic view of the Tawang valley river, snow-covered mountains, and lush greenery of coniferous trees.
Before reaching this monastery I studied to take some knowledge from the internet. The majestic monastery was founded in 1680-1681 by Merek Lama Lorde Gyatso. After arriving at this monastery I attached the high importance of the Tawang monastery, and highly devotees this place.
I mostly like the ambiance of the monastery which gave me a positive vibe and refresh energy. In the center of the monastery, all the Buddhist monks learned about the essence of their Buddhist culture.
The architecture of the Tawang monastery vibrant in color and awful shape is called Kakaling and elaborately decorated with mandalas on its rooftop. The monastery has a huge assembly hall and residential rooms for Buddhist lamas, Buddhist cultural study centers.

The main assembly hall consisted of an enormous image of Lord Buddha, the height of the statue was 18 feet. The statue was donated by the fifth Dalai Lama.
There was a huge library, an amazing collection of manuscripts, books, and other religious valuable books in the library.
In the main assembly hall, I saw some Buddhist monks, I requested to take a picture with them. The Buddhist lama was so humble and friendly nature to the tourists.
After whole day spending in the most beautiful monastery, my traveling extravaganza fulfilled my passion for travel. I enjoyed enormously the spectacular view of this monastery bottom of my heart.
I just loved head over heels the atmosphere of this monastery. This travel experience gave lots of memory to collect my mind and soul.
